Quote: Ella Minnow Pea

Six big devils from Japan quickly forgot how to waltz.

– Mannheim, Ella Minnow Pea

Mark Dunn's Ella Minnow Pea is an epistolary novel with a charming premise: in a fictitious nation built on the power of language, strange and arbitrary edicts have forced the people to slowly lose their letters. (Literally). It's a light story covering heavy dystopic themes. Not necessarily groundbreaking, fully coherent or astonishing, but its charm for an hour-or-two makes it a must-read.

And it’s a nonsensical quote, I admit. But it all makes sense in the end.
